BLOCKBUSTER NEW DVD RELEASES/ JUNE 17/ COMEDY

Releasing this week is "Be Kind Rewind", starring Jack Blackm, Mos Def, and Danny Glover. The movie is premised on a mom and pop video store owned by Mr. Fletcher(Danny Glover). Mike a store employee(Mos Def) has a friend(Jack Black) who works at a local power plant and in the grip of paranoia attemps to sabotage it. In the process he magnetizes his brain, resulting in erasing all the stores video tapes when he next visits. Afterward in an attempt to save the store they do remakes of every movie, and the ensuing hilarity is classic. The film is rated PG 13. NEW DVD RELEASES/ JUNE 17TH/ COMEDY

Releasing this week is "Fool's Gold". Last seen together in "How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days", Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey team up in this great comedy. They portray a treasure hunting couple that has parted ways, but through circumstances are brought together in pursuit of the "Queen's Dowry", a legendary treasure of epic proportions. Their pursuit of the elusive treasure involves billionaires, spoiled billionaire's daughters, gangsters, explosions (always mandatory), and more. The film is rated PG 13. Learn more

NEW DVD RELEASES/ JUNE 10/ COMEDY

One good comedy releasing this week at Blockbuster online is "witless protection" starring Larry the Cable Guy and Ivana Milicevic. Larry assumes the role of a local sherrif who attemps to stop a percieved kidnapping of a fair damsel, resulting in an onslaught of hilarity. The film is rated PG-13 for adult humor. Learn more

One good horror flick releasing this week is "The Eye". This film was produced by Cruise/Wagner productions and stars the ever-popular and recently married Jessica Alba. The plotline centers around Sydney Wells (Jessica Alba) who is a blind concert violinist who receives a double corneal implant. Unlike conventional LASIK complications, Sydney starts seeing horrifying images and visions which forshadowing future events, which send her on a journey to beyond the grave and into the unknown. Three good comedies worth checking out are releasing this week. The creators of "Date Movie" and "Scary Movie" deliver another hilarious movie with "Meet The Spartans", which is a parody of everything from Paris Hilton and the Transformers to Ghost Rider and Rocky. Another new DVD release is "Semi-Pro" starring Will Ferrell and Woody Harrelson. This 1970s based basketball comedy is rated "R".
